Book Review: Reckless Omission by Erin Page

Posted on January 28, 2025January 28, 2025 by Tejashwini

As someone who reads thrillers almost exclusively, I’ve come to rely on romance as my perfect buffer genre. Romance books are my go-to for when I want something light, fun, and refreshing. They’re the best way to reset my reading rhythm when I feel like I’m falling into a slump. Thrillers are great, but reading them back-to-back can sometimes feel too intense or predictable, and that’s when switching genres becomes a game-changer. Romance offers a completely different vibe—one that’s easygoing, comforting, and just plain fun.

That’s how I stumbled upon Reckless Omission by Erin Page, and I’m so glad I did. If you’re a fan of authors like Lauren Asher or Sarah Adams, you’ll absolutely love this book. From the first chapter, I was hooked by its lighthearted tone and well-crafted characters. It’s the kind of story that doesn’t demand too much from you—it just pulls you in with its charm and keeps you smiling all the way through.

Plot Summary:

We lied to everyone. But I never thought he’d lie to me.

One minute I’m at my desk, designing book covers and reminding my best friend that I don’t need dating apps. The next, I’m thrust into an executive boardroom full of people whose suits are saying everything their mouths aren’t – I don’t belong here. That is until he walks in. Perfection in a navy suit, with a seductive smirk that could make any woman weak in the knees. Shaking my hand, he holds on tight, awakening butterflies that have long been dormant.

I shouldn’t want to rip a man’s clothes off and take him home with me, and I certainly shouldn’t do it with a man who works for my CEO – hello, off limits! But with every interaction, it’s impossible to stay away. Keeping us a secret is the only option.

I just never thought he might be keeping secrets of his own.

A Breezy Plot with Perfect Pacing

One of the things I really appreciated about Reckless Omission was its pacing. The story moved along at a comfortable, natural rhythm that made it impossible to put down. It didn’t try to pack in too much drama or unnecessary plot twists, which I loved. Sometimes, you just need a book that feels effortless to read, and this one delivered exactly that.

The plot itself was easygoing, but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. It had just the right balance of emotional depth and playful moments, keeping me engaged without overwhelming me. It felt like the literary equivalent of a cozy afternoon—warm, inviting, and exactly what I needed.

Characters You’ll Fall in Love With

What really made Reckless Omission stand out were the characters. They were well thought out, fully fleshed, and so easy to root for. Their personalities felt authentic, and their chemistry was undeniable. You know those stories where you just get the characters right away and can’t help but smile at their interactions? That’s what this book gave me.

Whether you’re swooning over the romance or laughing at the clever banter, the characters make the story come alive. And while the plot is light and breezy, there’s just enough emotional depth to make you care deeply about their journeys.

Why Reading Romance Is So Fun

I think there’s something uniquely enjoyable about reading romance. It’s such a versatile genre—offering everything from heartwarming, feel-good stories to intense, slow-burn love sagas. But no matter what subgenre you pick, romance always has a way of leaving you in a better mood.

For me, romance serves as a palate cleanser, especially after reading heavier or darker books. It’s a chance to escape into a world where love and connection take center stage. With Reckless Omission, I was reminded of just how comforting and uplifting a good romance novel can be.

Why You Should Add Reckless Omission to Your TBR

If you’re looking for an easy, enjoyable read that will brighten your day, Reckless Omission is the perfect pick. It’s entertaining, fresh, and leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Whether you’re new to romance or already a fan of the genre, this book deserves a spot on your TBR.

So, have you read Reckless Omission yet? If not, are you adding it to your list? Let me know in the comments! And if you have any other romance recommendations for me, I’d love to hear them.

Happy reading!
